Description

Zhukov-U is a drop-in replacement handguard manufactured by Magpul to upgrade the venerable AK family of rifles to modern standards and field requirements. The -U variant is optimized for short-barreled AK rifles like the AK-102, 104, and 105 models.

The two-piece handguard is injection-molded from high-quality polymers with anti-slip texturing that guarantees an optimal balance between weight and durability. Multiple M-LOK slots at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions allow installation of additional equipment ranging from sling attachment slots to foregrips and light amplification modules. The full-length design provides ample space for customizations as well as increased barrel shielding and rear and front handstops to prevent slippage. It is also compatible with the Ultimak gas tubes.

The polymer part is attached directly to the aluminum chassis, which mitigates the possible wobbling of the system. It clamps directly to the barrel and increases heat shielding during dynamic shooting. The kit also includes the polymer gas tube cover for factory-mounted tubes.

Zhukov is not compatible with handguard retaining caps with a sling loop.
