Description

The Corvus Defensio Keymod barrel rail revolutionises the accessory mounting options on the barrel of the Steyr AUG. The rail is simply mounted in place of the original barrel grip and ensures the mounting of a variety of accessories directly on the Keymod mounting holes (e.g.: barrel grips, bipods, sling mounts, etc.) even without attaching additional Keymod Picatinny rails. This direct mounting on the keymod system also saves additional weight (in relation to the use of additional Picatinny rails). If, however, the far more common Picatinny system is preferred for accessory mounting, it is possible to mount the Corvus Defensio 15-slot or the Corvus Defensio 4-slot keymod Picatinny rail in all conceivable positions to obtain individual mounting options. In addition, all keymodpicatinny rails from other manufacturers can also be used. Another advantage of the combination with the 15-slot Keymodpicatinny rail is that an additionally used barrel grip can be mounted closer to the shooter than the original barrel grip. This makes it easier to guarantee the use of the grip even when wearing bullet-proof waistcoats and when changing shoulders (without changing hands). The variant of the support hand on the trigger guard, which is less favourable for shooting behaviour but is often seen, can thus be avoided.

Mounting:
Dismount original barrel grip.
Moisten grub screws with screw adhesive and screw into keymod rail (however, these must still be flush at this step).
Insert the rail into the mounting area of the barrel and push the retaining bolt through the opening provided.
Tighten the grub screws alternately until the rail is firmly seated.

Note: When alternately tightening the screws, ensure that the rail is aligned parallel to the barrel!
